Priscilla’s adventure continues across the Outback

Day 4 Wednesday

Kulgera to Coober Pedy – our Queen of the Desert sparkles in the Aussie outback

On the road to Control Stop 6 at Kulgera – the southernmost permanent settlement in the Northern Territory with a population of just 50 people. Our custom built trailer from Motorsport Hauler sure captured plenty of attention along the way.

The ATN Solar Car Team had time for a little ‘Priscillafication’ at the South Australian border. Only 1240 kilometres to go!

As the sun set on Day 4 of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, Priscilla and the Cruiser field settled back for a little R&R. We camped at the official overnight recharge station in Coober Pedy for a night of Aussie flavour and retro fun at the Drive In. As a welcome to South Australia, we were treated to a BBQ and screening of popular Australian outback movie, Red Dog.

Day 5 Thursday Coober Pedy to Port Augusta

Sunrise and we couldn’t resist taking our Queen of the Desert for a spin. Doesn’t she look incredible against this iconic backdrop…we’re now on our way to Control Stop number 8 at Glendambo

Our last night on the road before the journey into Adelaide and our last Control Stop! Port Augusta was the perfect place to freshen up Priscilla for the finish line tomorrow – it took a little time to free her of the Coober Pedy dust! Temperatures cooled a little too – the team were grateful for our Valour Sport jackets.

Day 6 – the Adelaide Finish Line

Five states. Five Universities. One team. What an incredible journey the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is. Words can’t do justice to the feeling of crossing the finish line and being reunited with our friends, families and supporters. ATN Solar Car Team’s Queen of the Desert, Priscilla, took centre stage in Adelaide on Friday 18 October on the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge Finish Line.

Thanks to all our supporters, partners and sponsors – we couldn’t have made our first BWSC19 without you – RMIT University, UTS: University of Technology Sydney, University of South Australia, Curtin University, QUT (Queensland University of Technology), Valour Sport, Crust Pizza, Brumby’s, KENWORTH Australia, Motorsport Hauler Trailers, and Bridgestone Tires
