ATN Solar Car Team – our story
The Australian Technology Network (ATN) Solar Car Team brings together five of the most innovative and enterprising universities in the nation: QUT, University of Technology Sydney, RMIT University, University of South Australia and Curtin University. The ATN Solar Car Team was proud to be the first official entrant of the 2019 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC).
Our team competed in the biennial event, which ran from 13 – 20 October, 2019. A true test of endurance, the BWSC has become the world’s foremost solar technology and advanced engineering challenge, with teams competing to create sustainable, innovative, solar powered electric vehicles, able to travel 3,000 km from Darwin to Adelaide. We competed in the Cruiser Class, which seeks to deliver a real-world, practical, solar electric car. What better platform to demonstrate ATN’s commitment to partnerships and collaboration with industry and government to deliver practical results through real world research?
On our journey to the 2019 BWSC we collaborated with industry partners and ATN stakeholders to design and build a car that is competitive, practical and desirable. We named her Priscilla.
Stay tuned for more adventures…
